  • To explore the crucial role that the environment plays in the Early Years
  • To consider the concept of the environment as the third teacher and what this means in practice
  • To consider what constitutes an enabling environment within the EYFS
  • To discuss possible solutions to any potential barriers when creating an enabling environment
  • To examine and discuss continuous and enhanced provision and how the environment can actively promote inclusion
  • To explore the suitability of resources and examine the role of natural materials in children’s environments
  • To consider how the environment can support individual children’s learning
  • To make links to the familiar planning cycle with specific reference to the learning environment
